KindredKeep — coming later this year

A family's story, woven by you.

Local-first family genealogy with AI research agents — so the long work of remembering stays yours.

The story

Remembering a family is long, quiet, careful work.

Cassette tapes with a grandmother's voice sit in a shoebox. A census page sits in an archive three states away. A photograph sits in a drawer, nobody quite sure who's in it.

KindredKeep is built for the people doing the real work of remembering — with AI that searches the records, transcribes the tapes, and connects the threads, and a tree that never forgets where a fact came from.

And all of it runs, by default, on your own machine. The cloud is an opt-in boost, not a lock-in. Your family's story stays yours.

What you can do

Four kinds of work, one place to do them.

Build your tree

A flexible family tree for biological, adoptive, blended, and chosen families. GEDCOM in, GEDCOM out, with every fact source-attributed.

Preserve voices & memories

Record interviews in the browser. Transcribe on-device. Upload photos, certificates, scanned letters. The shoebox becomes a searchable archive.

Let AI do the research

Autonomous agents search FamilySearch's 9B records and public archives, returning confidence-scored findings with citations you can review.

Ask questions of your history

Chat with your family archive. Every answer links back to the person, record, or recording it came from. Run it locally, or use cloud models for more power.

Meet the features

Eight named pieces. One connected product.

Pricing

Free on your device. Premium in the cloud.

KindredKeep is local-first, so the core experience is free forever. A paid tier unlocks cloud-powered research, collaboration, and AI generation — for when the cloud is genuinely worth the tradeoff.

Weave — git for genealogy.

Every genealogy tool today forces the same bad choice: share one tree and watch a careful collaborator's work get overwritten, or fork and never reconcile again. Families stop collaborating at the moment a second serious maintainer appears.

Weave removes that failure. Each maintainer keeps a sovereign tree and offers contributions fact-by-fact. The recipient accepts, rejects, or branches — nothing is auto-applied. Source attribution follows every fact across every boundary, and privacy tiers gate what crosses at all.
